RUTH Van Vliet-White

Ruth Van Vliet-White joined Ignition Media Group in 2020 as the Company’s office manager. She is responsible for all of Ignition’s financial processes, human resources, and administration. She leads the charge in building a positive culture grounded in innovation, strategic thinking, client satisfaction, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Ruth additionally serves as Chief of Staff for Sixteen42 Ventures, the parent company to the portfolio of companies, investments and properties of Dennis Archer, Jr. She manages communication, scheduling, and day-to-day management of a portfolio of companies across multiple industries and serves as proxy to the CEO at key meetings.

Ruth previously worked as the executive office manager, financial controller, and special projects coordinator at Harbour Results, Inc. a manufacturing consulting business. Ruth’s early career was focused on early childhood education as a teacher in the Michigan School Readiness Program (MSRP) but shifted to a business focus in 2011 when she took a position as the executive operations manager and motivational support leader for VIP Fitness. She built processes, trained staff, and shaped motivational culture to help 6,000+ clients get healthy and oversaw the company’s expansion from one to three locations.

Ruth holds an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Schoolcraft College and certification in Special Education from Western Michigan University.

Ruth is proud to fundraise and volunteer for multiple philanthropic organizations including Game on Cancer, Connect Melanoma, Hearing Association of Michigan, and Make a Wish Foundation.

In Ruth’s free time she enjoys working out, being a mom to her four “adult” children and traveling to West Michigan to spend summer weekends in Saugatuck.
